Marrakech...
|
|
Marrakech,
founded in the 11 th century, Marrakech has always struck the imagination
of western travellers. An imperial city, caravanserais, market places
where southern tribes men and Berber villagers sell handicrat and
food products. Located in the fertile haouz plain at the foot of the
magnificent Atlas mountains, it is a city of incredible beauty, casting
the ochre of its walls and monuments to the dazzling sun.

Handicraft and markets.

Irregulary shaped, Djemaa el Fna square lies at the
heart of the old town, with the Koutoubia mosque, one of the most
famous monuments in Marrakech dominating it. It is rather difficult
to describe the scene accurately, as tourists, touts, storytellers,
soothsayers, snake charmers, strollers and sandwich sellers can be
seen everywhere.
